Par light

Stocking distributor for Satco LED bulbs. Photosynthetically active radiation , often abbreviated PAR, designates the spectral range (wave band) of solar radiation from 4to 7nanometers that photosynthetic organisms are able to use in the process of photosynthesis. This spectral region corresponds more or less with the range of light visible to the human eye. PAR cans are being replaced in some stage applications by LED stage lighting, which use less electric power and produce a wide array of saturated colors without the use of color filters, when white light is not needed.

PAR light is the wavelengths of light within the visible range of 4to 7nanometers (nm) which drive photosynthesis (Figure 1). PAR is a much used (and often misused) term related to horticulture lighting. PAR is NOT a measurement or “metric” like feet, inches or kilos.

When searching for a new par can, there are a few things to consider first. To start, what type of venue are you trying to light ? There are two definitions for the acronym PAR , but both describe the same thing. One is parabolic aluminized reflector.

The other is pressed-glass aluminized reflector. In PAR lighting, both the lens and reflector are internal parts of the lamp.

PAR stands for Parabolic Anodized Reflector. Many halogen spot and flood lights use a parabolic (U-shaped) reflector to collect and reflect the light out the front of the bulb. Although this technique is generally not required in LED lamps, we continue to use the term as it’s become an industry standard designation. The PAR can is perhaps the most widely used light for concerts, nightclubs and touring productions.

PAR , and and BR (or R) 2 and despite their similar names are quite different. Though they bear some similarities, understanding their differences will help you make better decisions about which one of these bulbs works best for your needs. PAR Cans are the most widely used light for concerts, clubs, and theatrical lighting.

Par Cans For lighting stages and theaters, you will find that PAR cans are used much more commonly than any other type of luminary. Maxxima LED PAR light bulbs are energy efficient and available in different sizes including PAR3 PARand PAR20. They are suitable for indoor or outdoor use.

As a refresher, PAR ( Photosynthetically Active Radiation ) is a region of the electromagnetic spectrum (4to 7nm) that promotes photosynthesis. PPF (Photosynthetic Photon Flux) is a critical metric that tells us how much PAR a light -source emits. The lens doesn’t allow light to spread much further than the angle of the beam spread.

BR bulbs tend to have a more gradual “fade” in light as the light reaches the outer limits of the beam spread. BR also produce less shadow than PAR bulbs. In the scheme of things, modern PAR or BR bulbs can be used in a variety of applications. RGBW LED flat par light , provides colorful romantic lighting, fantastic visual effect.

Number of LED lights: LEDs ( red LEDs, green LEDs, blue LEDs, white LEDs).

Apogee Instruments’ quantum sensors are the tool of choice for researchers and agricultural professionals measuring photosynthetically active radiation ( PAR ) and daily light integral all over the world. PAR ( Photosynthetically Active Radiation ) is an often used (and often misused) term. Lighting terms can be confusing. It is NOT a measurement or “metric” like feet, inches, or kilos.

Rather, it defines the type of light (scientists call light “electromagnetic radiation”) needed to support photosynthesis in plant life. Their lighting is less precise and produces less shadow than PAR bulbs, but they are great for fixtures that use dimmer switches.
