Christchurch hospital lockdown

Two mosques at Deans Ave and Linwood Ave will remain locked down tonight, police say. All appointments have been cancelled this afternoon, and no staff or patients are to enter or leave the building. No further details were available. A police spokeswoman confirmed the lockdown.


Everybody inside the hospital has been ordered to stay inside and shelter-in-place. The earlier lockdown on all schools has been lifted. Another person died at the hospital.


Witnesses at the mosque in Linwood said further. New Zealand police said the lockdown on schools had been lifted. The shooter remains in hospital under police guard today after being shot in the. A total of patients, including young children with gunshot wounds, have been admitted to.

Christchurch city is in lockdown as is Christchurch Hospital. People are being evacuated from the area. As a precaution, we ask that the public avoids the area for the time being. Cops have rushed to Hawke’s Bay Hospital in Hastings following the unspecified threat.
