Daily life in ancient macedonia

The ancient Macedonians were considered non-Greek but are claimed as co-nationals by the modern Greeks. Modern Macedonians are Slavs descended from the peoples who arrived in the Balkans in the sixth and seventh centuries. If this was all there was to be seen, you would greatly enjoy it. In fact, many children that were part of poor families did not live past ten years old. The rich Romans spent tons of money on objects, and they decorated their homes with many ornaments. Wealthy Roman women ran their households by purchasing and training slaves.


They also bought and sold property. However, in less than eight years, Alexander vanquished the Persian Empire. During the Cycladic Perio houses and temples were built of finished stone and the people made their living through fishing and trade. Alexander ruled for about years. Alexander the Great conquered the ancient Greek city-states in 3BC. He was off conquering other lands when he died. During his rule, daily life and religion in ancient Greece continued much the same as always.


In Ancient Rome the the upper class and the lower class had different lives, but people usually don’t live past ten and if they get past the age of they will have a ceremony where they give up their bulla and their childhood toy and become a grown up. Also there is a lot of crime and disease, so rich people wore rags. The Macedonians are very well aware of the world around them as well as the differences in opinions and behaviors. Because of this they are quite understanding of various cultures and foreigners so odd behaviors are generally accepted (but not encouraged).


Life in ancient Greece was quite different for men and women. Whilst men were expected to take an active part in the public life of their city, women were expected to lead a private life as wives and mothers. Their lives were centred on the home. Slavery was a central feature of life in Greece. As with many cultures, a person s quality of life depended in many ways on their rank within the social structure.


Two Romans living at the same time in the same city could have very different lives. For wealthy Romans, life was good. They lived in beautiful houses often on the hills outside Rome, away from the noise and the smell. Cost of Living in Macedonia. The ancient kingdom of Macedon, which Alexander inherited after the assassination of his father, Philip II, in 3BC, largely coincides with the region of Northern Greece that is now called Makedonia or Macedonia. It is here that Alexander was born, spent the formative years of his childhood and youth, and gained his first experiences as a military and political leader.
