Plenty gorge park

The walk starts and ends at the Red Gum Picnic area. From the car park take the paved road east through the barriers.

Plenty Gorge Park , Whittlesea, Victoria, AU. While the promise of discussions is a positive start, there has been some damage to the signs put up by Parks Vic which in no way help the situation. In a state that’s wall-to-wall with spectacular scenery and exciting adventures, one destination stands a little taller than the rest: Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. Located one hour from Colorado Springs and two hours from Denver, the park is home to America’s highest suspension bridge — and plenty of adrenaline-pumping attractions. Then turn right into the carpark with a sign saying “Middle Gorge Park ” (it should be the carpark at the top of the hill, if you are next to the river, then you’re in the wrong carpark).

The plan will set a year vision for the park and respond to the open space needs of its surrounding and rapidly growing community. What is there is very unstable and unsuitable for anyone other than experienced climbers and quality of routes ie worthwhile, is debatable. The parcel of land that the quarry is on, is now coming back into public land hands. It was a relatively short walk, but well worth it as the lake and cliffs were absolutely beautiful and the path was quite scenic with plenty of trees and a river flowing below.

All riders, friends and people are welcome to join in the fun. We will then head back up to the Yellow Gum Recreation Area for a morning tea picnic, nature play and nature-based craft activities.
