And what the heck am I supposed to say back? I kind of want to play hard to get, but not too hard because I like the guy. I typed fast, and now reading this over, that sounds bad. I’ve been talking to this guy for about a month, most days he texts me at least once, sometimes he goes a few days without texting, but of the time he texts and says hi and our conversation just flows, we have a ton in common, and we get along extremely well.
Few phrases are more easily misinterpreted than when men say, We should hang out sometime.
Such a simple statement only summons countless questions. When a guy says we should hang out sometime he means, we should hang out sometime. You know, just like when we guys say My bladder is full I have to pee, we mean My bladder is full I have to pee.
Hang out is a very common English idiom. It means getting together to have some fun. This could take the form of sitting around your dorm room chatting (if you are a student), going to a coffee shop, going out for lunch, whatever.
But I don’t want to come right out and say that. I’m not sure I like you enough to straight-up ask you on a date.
So let’s just tentatively say we’ll hang out at some point so we can keep our options open. There is no misleading factor here! He probablyyou and is into you and would like to spend more time with you.
He says we should hang out soon to initiate that he really wants to hang out with you some more but at the same time he does not want to be too pushy. When a guy is into you, he’ll make plans — he won’t be throwing breadcrumbs that lead to a dead-end. He wants to hang with you in the same way that he wants to quit his job and backpack all over the world. I wouldn’t take it that way. Some are just obligatory responses that are words that hold zero meaning.
Another example: I say “Hey Chris, How are ya doing? If a guy asks to hang out , you are probably already thinking: Is this a date or not? Sometimes you just have to open up direct lines of communication, and ask the obvious question. Chances are that when you do, both parties will be relieved.
Ask him, “ Should I invite friends along, or is this a date? When a guy suggests hanging out , he’s actually trying to gauge your interest. What do you mean by hanging out ? He’s too chicken to ask you out on a real date and face the possibility of rejection.
When guys say things like we should hangout sometime or we should chill then you can almost be sure that he wants to get it in.
First of all when a guy says you never know when you ask him if you should hang out with him it means sometimes nod most of the time he wants it just he is too shy to. When a woman says , We should hang out sometime, does she mean hang out or go out ? And how do I know the difference? Cuz I never see u in school anymore.
Pretty soon out of nowhere you get a, We should hang out sometime. WE SHOULD HANG OUT SOMETIME.
