D day darlings

Watch as they remind everyone to be proud to be British, and are joined by some. Learn all about us and our mission to keep the wartime spirit alive and into the new generation. THE D - Day Darlings are a 40s themed wartime singing group formed for nine members. I was so moved - not just for their great talent and performance, but the motivation behind it - to honor their loved ones and all Veterans who served during World War and to keep the memory of their sacrifice alive.


We are excited to perform at the spectacular remembrance concert coming to City Hall Salisbury on Sunday 3rd November!

The singing group finished fourth on the reality show after performing renditions of songs popular during the First and Second World Wars. The story begins as we hear the declaration of war speech on the wireless and the Darlings bid goodbye to their lifelong friend John as he packs up his troubles and goes to fight for his country. The group performs at D-Day parades, and even birthday parties for veterans that want to recapture their youth. For the finale, the group decided to step up their game.


For their final performance the D-Day darlings really brought home their message of patriotism by honoring some of the veterans in person. Please Note: no tickets will be issued for this event. Events are subject to availability.


The good-nature but trouble-making Appalachian clan, led by patriarch Briscoe Darling (played by Denver Pyle) usually came into town when they had some sort of problem that Sheriff Andy Taylor had to resolve. The Darlings , originally formed as a trio, became an overnight success and the group’s popularity grew with young and old alike, so more Darlings were signed up to join to the group, creating an army of girls to continue their mission of keeping the wartime spirit alive and into the new generation. All members of the choir have relatives who have served or are currently serving in the Forces.
